Watching Me, Watching You
Kanapaha Gardens
Gainesville, Florida
I took this photograph in August 2026 while walking through Kanapaha Botanical Gardens in Gainesville, Florida.
I spotted this little dragonfly sitting quietly along the path, seemingly content to just watch the world go by. I stopped to photograph it, and the longer I stood there, the more it felt like it was watching me just as closely as I was watching it.
That small exchange became the photograph.
Watching Me, Watching You is about that brief moment of curiosity between two creatures who happened to notice each other.
